Regional Coordinator – South Asia

Pal Singh is responsible for implementing the Centre’s agroforestry research agenda in South Asia. Prior to joining the World Agroforestry Centre Pal was a Systems Agronomist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). He holds a PhD in Soil and Water Management from the University of the Philippines. Pal received recognition for his efforts to improve the rain-fed rice systems of eastern India while working for IRRI. He has built a reputation in identifying agroforestry solutions suitable for the unfavourable agronomic environments of South Asia where land and water resources are limited and the population is rising rapidly.
