Dr Ramni Harmanjeet Jamnadass

Leader, Global Research Project - Quality Trees Ramni Jamnadass has been associated with the World Agroforestry Centre since 2004. Prior to joining the staff, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow with the genetics resources unit at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) where she researched genetic diversity in forages. Concurrent to her postdoctoral appointment she lectured in the department of Biochemistry at Nairobi University. Her current work involves managing a global team that researches tree improvement and addresses utilization of tree genetic resourcesthrough better functioning of systems supplying agroforestry germplasm. Ramni also manages the Genetic Resources Unit, at the Centre’s headquarters, which sources tree germplasm from around the world while contributing to conservation efforts. Ramni received her PhD from Brunel University, London in collaboration with ILRI for her research on molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in livestock trypanosomes. |
