The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) joined forces in 2019, leveraging a combined 65 years’ experience in research on the role of forests and trees in solving critical global challenges.
ICRAF in Thailand, in collaboration with Chiang Mai University, cofounded the Knowledge Support Centre for the Greater Mekong Sub-region. This aims to increase awareness of the complex and often poorly understood zone by sharing information about issues related to natural resource management, environmental services and climate change. The country works closely with other offices in Southeast Asia and the East and Central Asia program based in Yunnan Province, which also conducts research in the Mekong region.
World Agroforestry has been working in Thailand for over 20 years.
