Kipruto Cherogony
Kipruto Cherogony is a Kenyan citizen, with a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering (Soil and Water Engineering Option), a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Nairobi and Post-graduate Certificate in Rainwater Harvesting and Management from Gansu Research Institute for Water Conservancy, China. Cherogony has considerable experience in agricultural extension, Community Development, Irrigation and rainwater Management and research technology, with special interest in soil and water engineering for the semi-arid areas. His skills are more pronounced in the design and construction of rainwater harvesting/management & soil conservation infrastructure, development of communities’ key water facilities and sanitation, and environmental rehabilitation of degraded rangelands. He is currently involved in: Development of Rwanda Irrigation Masterplan; and Rainwater Harvesting Project by Concern Worldwide in Burundi. He has been a consultant for World Bank Supported Arid Lands Resource Management Programme, The Regional Land Management Unit (RELMA), Concern Somalia, Horn Relief and The Greenbelt Movement.
