The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) and a diverse team of partners have been tasked by the International Development Research Council (IDRC) to contribute to the conceptualization and development of their Rural Poverty and Environment (RPE) programming related to Compensation for Ecosystem Services (CES) by providing an overview of relevant developments in Africa, Asia and Latin America, a global synthesis of results and recommendations as to a possible niche for RPE programming.

Truly global in nature, the CES Scoping Study, is being undertaken by partners and collaborators based in 8 countries across 4 continents. Designed for and accessible to project participants and collaborators, this site is our online hub - a clearing house of ideas and resources.
The site is also an organizational tool that will help us meet our commitments and reach our goals, by keeping us connected, informed and on track throughout the course of the project. Here you'll find important project reference documents such as the revised project proposal and draft conceptual framework. And you can plan your activities using the online calendar.
More than a static repository of information, this site is an interactive forum for project participants. You can add a resource to our nascent CES database and share ideas with your peers by posting your thoughts on the noticeboard.
