The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) through the East Africa Region has entered into an agreement with African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) in the development of an ‘Evergreen Agriculture’ for Africa dubbed CAWT (Conservation Agriculture with Trees). This agreement was signed in December 3rd 2009. Through funding from SIDA, the two organizations with other national partners will be involved in the development and widespread adoption of conservation agriculture based on sustainable and viable natural resource management practices. ICRAF is therefore committed to leveraging its technical strengths in agroforestry research and development to help strengthen conservation agriculture.
