The library is open from 8.00am - 4.30pm (including lunchtime) Monday to Friday. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

Who can access library facilities?
The library is open to staff of the World Agroforestry Centre, staff of hosted institutions, partner organizations, donors, university lecturers, and Masters and PhD students (who need to have introductory letters from their institutions during their first visit).

Who is eligible to borrow library books/materials?
The library books are only loaned to Centre staff and hosted institution staff on long contracts. However, students and staff on short contracts can also borrow books by getting their supervisors to authorize.

What is available at the library?
We have a specialized collection of books, journal literature with considerable back runs, reprints of journal articles, videos and images on agroforestry. These are all reflected in our catalog of library holdings, and the images and publications databases. In addition to the hard copies of publications, the library facilitates access to online resources such as journals, agricultural databases, publishing guides and journal alerts.

How long can I keep a library book?
Books are loaned for 30 days, with possible extension where necessary.

How many books can I borrow at a time?
At any one time, a user can hold a maximum of 10 library books.

What happens if I misplace a library book?
In the event that a book or periodical is lost, the replacement cost will be borne by the borrower and will equal the current cost of the publication plus shipping costs.

Can I make copies of documents found in the library?
Up to 10 pages can be copied at the library but for more copies, the documents are forwarded to the production unit where the requestor pays for copies made.

How can I access external resources?
Self service computers from which one can access online resources are available at the library.
