Mr Prior is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of New England at Armidale, New South Wales in Australia. He lectures in Natural Resource Policy, Agricultural and Natural Resource Extension, and Natural Resource Management in Developing Countries. He is also the Director of the Centre for Environmental Dispute Resolution (CEDR).

Julian has 30 years experience in sustainable agriculture and natural resources management within Australia and in Africa, Canada and the United Kingdom. During Julian’s former employment with several government natural resource management agencies and international development agencies, he worked in numerous programs concerned with land, water, vegetation and catchment management, and biodiversity conservation.

Julian has worked with Landcare within Australia since 1990, South Africa (2002-2004) and the Philippines (2002). He currently has several projects running with Landcare networks within eastern Australia.

In addition to his University duties, Julian has undertaken a number of national and international consultancies focusing upon sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and sustainable livelihoods approaches within community-based natural resource management and community development.
