An Australian with over 25 years experience in rural development and natural resource management internationally. After tertiary education, Richard worked as an extension adviser in Australia for three years, during which one of the first Landcare activities he was involved in was Chairing the Central Australian Rangelands Coordinating Committee. This was followed by gaining experience on mainly long-term assignments as a team leader/project manager/technical adviser in Somalia, Ethiopia, China, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mozambique. Team Leader/ChiefAdviser of very successful Landcare projects in Zimbabwe and SouthAfrica. Publications include, "Towards Sustainable Landcare Practises in South Africa".
