World Agroforestry Centre -- ICRAF participated in the 2nd IndoGreen Forestry Expo 2010. This is a major event dedicated to the sustainable management, exploitation and conservation of forest in Indonesia. It attracts a large number of visitors including government officials, forestry businessmen, environmental lovers and students. Government institutions, regional governments, forestry companies, mining companies and non-governmental organizations will participate in the 2nd edition of IndoGreen Forestry Expo to spread information on the forest potency, forest management and forest products. The event intends to develop efficiency and competency in controlling, implementing and protecting forests of Indonesia. The 2nd IndoGreen Forestry Expo 2010 will be a great international exhibition and conference on forest protection, forestry goods, technology and services.
Plenty of companies were joining this event. They are Pulp & paper, mining, plantation companies, Forestry department, some industrials, college, business agencies and also from research institutes as Burung Indonesia, CIFOR and ICRAF. We support the objectives of this event to disseminate information about the condition of Indonesia’s forests, increasing public awareness of forest function as the lungs of the world, increasing welfare of community around the forest, etc. Therefore hope this event which plan to be annual event can continue benefitting the community in Indonesia.
