The Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), in cooperation with the United Nations University - Traditional Knowledge Centre, (UNU-TK, www.ias.unu.edu) and Tebtebba (www.tebtebba.org) is organizing a global consultation and capacity building workshop on: "Potential Impacts of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) on Indigenous and Local Communities", from 12-14 November, in Baguio City, Republic of the Philippines.  

Participation is by invitation only. Pursuant to CBD procedure, a call for nominations of experts has been sent to registered indigenous organizations.

The meeting will be held back-to-back with a South-East Asian indigenous leaders forum on REDD, from 9-11 November, organized by UNU-TK and Tebtebba.
