What is PtfRDB?

Pedotransfer Resource Database (PtfRDB) is a database of input parameters to estimate soil properties for water balance calculations, summarized from 8915 data from tropical soils. The databse was built by Dr. Didik Suprayogo and Soenaryo MSc of Brawijaya University.

This is PtfRDB of Version 1.0.

Application

Interpretation of quantitative soil data is needed to judge whether or not measured values are 'high', medium' or 'low', given the type of soil, the climate and the land cover.

Pedotransfer funcions can help to make this art slightly more transferable. BD Pedotrasfer excel workbook was developed for calculating reference value for BD and C organic. To use the Workbook you need to download.

How to install?

Installation files

Files for installation are available on this CD folder Pedotransfer
You should have the following files to install PTFRDB:
1. SETUP.EXE

3. SETUP.LST 5Kb
4. Supporting files are stored in Support.zip

Copy
all those files into your local hard disk. For file support.zip you should
make a folder /SUPPORT and extract Support.zip into this folder. Download pedotransfer packages here.

System requirement

The program runs under WINDOWS, with minimum disk space requirement of
about 1 MB.

Installation steps

1. Run SETUP.EXE
2. Just ignore this message: “Pedotransfer setup – An error
occurred while registering the file ‘C:Program FilesCommon Filesmsado20.tlb!”
3. Restart your computer.

TO USE ?

    PTFRDB from the your WINDOWS-START: Pedotransfer – Pedotransfer
  2. You
    can search data on silt, clay, SOM content and bulk density from 11
    soil types and different soil layers (10 layers available) and various
    soil textures.
