» SEANAFE thesis research grants

SEANAFE's thesis research grant programme aims to provide agroforestry research opportunities for students in member institutions. The programme supports undergraduate (BSc) or graduate (MSc) thesis research. PhD research is currently not supported. The research is normally carried out at one of ICRAF’s research sites in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Other locations can also be considered.

The SEANAFE fellowships covers research costs, travel and a modest allowance for food and lodging. There is no fixed amount, the fellowship is decided from a case to case basis depending on the level of studies, the caracter of the work etc. Tuition can not be covered by the fellowship.

From 2002, the thesis research programme is administered via the national networks.

Further Information on research topics is available from the SEANAFE.  Research topics are also generated by staff and students at member instituitions and by the national networks.

» Supervision

Students are in most cases jointly supervised by an ICRAF scientist and a lecturer/professor in the home university. Research proposals are normally developed in a dialogue between the member institution (student and supervisor) and ICRAF and SEANAFE.
