Landscape analyses within the context of climate change mitigation, i.e. towards the mechanism of REDD+, including land-use and land-cover changes and the consequences for aboveground emission and opportunity costs; drivers of land-use changes; landscape dynamics of biomass/carbon-stock assessments in forest-agroforest-agriculture environments; participatory approaches for rural livelihood assessments; intervention design for low emission development at subnational level. Sustainability assessments and trade-offs between forest conservation and local livelihoods with the specific case of non-timber forest product harvesting; covering spatial analyses, forest-vegetation analyses, community-based and participatory research approaches, multivariate statistics. Spatial and quantitative analyses for Clean Development Mechanism site selection by integrating geospatial, population and socioeconomic data sets and land-use and land-cover change analyses for the benchmark site in Indonesia.

Overall coordinator of the Rewarding Upland Poor for Environmental Services (RUPES) Phase 2 project in Asia. A project coordinator and researcher specializing in environmental services and community-based natural resource management issues with over seven years of experience in policy analysis, program development, design and implementation, project management, project communication and institutional development. Develops and oversees pro-poor reward for environmental services initiatives in Asia with international donor organizations, regional government partners, research and civil society organizations. Applies experimental economics and natural resource governance to analyze and design solutions to enhancing environmental services, poverty alleviation, fairness and efficiency issues of innovative rewards for environmental schemes, including the pro-poor carbon market and climate change mitigation. Experience includes natural resource governance and policy, environmental and social impact assessment, training program development, donor program coordination, and institutional capacity strengthening. Designs, plans, organizes and evaluates multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder activities. Monitors and evaluates project performance toward strategic, programmatic and financial objectives.
