Asia-Link Workshop 2006 Culminates

The Asia-Link Call for Proposal 2006 Workshop was held at Khush Hall Meeting Room, IRRI, Los Baños, Laguna on 24-25 July 2006. The 2-day workshop was organized by the Institute of Environmental Science, Leiden University, the Netherlands to develop a proposal with Isabela State University, Philippines; Cagayan Valley Programme on Environment and Development, Philippines; Rajshahi University, Bangladesh; University of Padjadjaran, Indonesia; University of Extramadura, Spain; and ICRAF-Philippines. The workshop carried the theme: "Renewing Environmental Management through East-West Linkages: The Integration of Biodiversity Values in Forest and Agricultural Landscape".
During the first day, each partner presented their focus area, identified the potentials for cooperation, and the roles of their respective institutions on the proposed project. On the second day, the group discussed and finalized the details of the proposal, which will be submitted to the European Union before the deadline which set on October 16, 2006.
