Trees in multi-Use Landscapes in Southeast Asia

Tools For Your Use

Agroforestry, as a livelihood support option, requires a basic understanding of the landscape (PaLA), the drivers of land use changes (DriLUC), and poverty perceptions (PAPOLD), followed by the strength and weaknesses of the existing agroforestry systems (RAFT), the market (RMA) linked to profitability (PAM) and issues of land tenure (RaTA).

Specifically, agroforestry as an agro-biodiversity management support tool requires an agro-biodiversity appraisal (RABA), Quick Biodiversity Survey (QBS), analysis of land use (ALUCT), landscape scenarios and baselines (FALLOW), and constrain analysis (WNoTree) with support from mixed tree stands (SExI-FS and SLIM), wood density analysis, and tree*site matching.
