The SHARED methodology brings foundational and new approaches together to advance the science-practice-policy nexus paying close attention to a) socio-ecological systems; b) creating spaces for facilitated deliberation and interaction between stakeholders including governments, civil society and scientists; c) enhancing and coordinating cross-sectoral relationships; d) the process of knowledge creation and its strategic use and accessibility; e) developing capacity for integration and synthesis across knowledge domains; and f) bridging the experiential, behavioral and analytical aspects of decision making.
The SHARED methodology offers a tailored process that builds interaction between people and accessible evidence and is founded on a systems approach, integrating across themes, scales, institutions and knowledge domains. SHARED ensures the inter-relationship among social, environmental and economic dimensions is clearly taken into account within the complexity of decision-making.
The SHARED decision hub is founded on a people centered approach and is a demand driven and tailored engagement structure for individual clients and decision cases, and space filling the niche for managing communication and negotiation amongst key stakeholders.
