Thanh brings to ICRAF more than 20-year experience working in both government and international non-government organisations with foreign-funded projects as diverse as those in afforestation, mountainous and rural sustainable development, disadvantaged children and people with disabilities.

Holding master degree finance, Thanh's professional focus has stretched across budgeting, finance, accounting, micro-credit and administration fields. These many skills, combined with on-the-job training opportunities from his time with ICRAF, and his ability to remain flexible and respond quickly to last minute changes, Thanh has made an immense contribution to the expansion of ICRAF. Alongside with country coordinators, he has helped to establish solid operational and accountability structures for the administration and technical teams. 

Thanh is passionate about building strategic plans, supporting other staff and is deeply committed to alleviating poverty and hunger and protecting the environment through the work of ICRAF. He particularly enjoys field visits where he can meet and talk with local people engaged with agroforestry intervention, benefits and impacts meanwhile experience the diverse and beautiful landscapes and cultures of Vietnam.


Thanh's love coffee because it is cash-crop species and inter-cropped in many agroforestry systems in Vietnam and he is also coffee drinker as well.
