Samuel Muthemba

AOCC Lab Technician

Muthemba holds a Molecular Biology and Biochemistry degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has vast experience in the applications of molecular techniques in diverse plants and animals systems.

He joined ICRAF from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Forensic and Genetics Laboratory where he was tasked with the molecular surveillance of wildlife diseases such as herpes viruses in elephants and trypanosomes in Rhinoceros, species bar-coding and bush-meat identification for forensic prosecutions. As the AOCC laboratory technician, he is charged with the maintenance, isolation and re-sequencing of the 101 targeted African orphan crops.
