A new agroforestry module has now been added to FAO’s Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) Toolbox.

The SFM Toolbox brings together a large number of tools, case studies and other resources ­organized into modules­ aimed at providing forest owners, managers and other stakeholders with easy access to resources to help in implementing sustainable forest management.

The new agroforestry module provides a general overview of agroforestry and details is economic, social and environmental benefits. It also describes how to identify the most appropriate agroforestry system and to design, adapt, establish and manage it.

The module links to a range of useful tools, including the World Agroforestry Centre’s Agroforestree database as well as various manuals and guides.

Case studies of agroforestry adoption from around the world are included in the module as is a list of relevant publications for more in-depth reading

The module is designed as a ‘living document’ and will be added to over time as new case studies, tools and publications are submitted.
