The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) joined forces in 2019, leveraging a combined 65 years’ experience in research on the role of forests and trees in solving critical global challenges.
The World Agroforestry Centre is featured in Food Tank’s list of 101 organizations which are helping to create a better food system.
All of the organizations listed are working to “fight food waste, combat the dual paradoxes of hunger and obesity, recognize the multiple roles of family farmers, increase nutrient density, protect agricultural diversity, and adapt to a changing climate,” says the article.
Other organizations included in the list, which are also partners of the World Agroforestry Centre, include The Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research, Bioversity International, The Center for International Forestry Research, Ecoagriculture Partners, Global Forum on Agricultural Research, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, The International Food Policy Research Institute, The International Fund for Agricultural Development, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, International Water Management Institute and the U.N.
