Training in sustainable land management and climate change in Gambia hopes to improve environmental practices in agriculture.
All Africa reports on a workshop organized by the National Women Farmers Association which promotes the social and economic empowerment of women farmers towards food security and reduced poverty. The workshop was funded by the Global Environment Facility.
Participants included extension workers, agroforestry officials and farmers. They learnt about measures that can be taken to help adapt to climate change, and discussed agroforestry, biodiversity and the importance of conserving the natural resource base.
