The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) joined forces in 2019, leveraging a combined 65 years’ experience in research on the role of forests and trees in solving critical global challenges.
The potential for public private partnerships to boost investment in agriculture in Vietnam – including in agroforestry – is the subject of an article in Vietnam Investment Review.
A recent meeting in Hanoi reviewed sustainable agricultural growth through public-private partnerships over the past 3 years. Among the achievements is work by the Global Sustainable Agroforestry Fund together with Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development towards the government’s ambitious 2011-2015 Green Growth Strategy which aims to attain a 20% reduction in emissions, 20% reduction in poverty and 20% increase in growth.
“PPPs have the potential to give the development of professional supply chains a boost and ensure sustainable development,” said Dr Dang Kim Son, Director of the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD).
